Bill Jasso

Jasso is the former VP of communications at Time Warner Cable and has nearly two decades of experience working there, making him very qualified to provide advice on how to negotiate and position oneself in the job market in a digital age. Students love his pertinent, applicable and useful advice!

 

"Ethics in Social Media: Let’s Not Get Ahead of Ourselves”

Michael Meath

Ethics and crisis communications expert Meath will give a presentation on "Ethics in Social Media – let's not get ahead of ourselves"

 

“Google Glasses, Social Media, New Media”

William Ward

Ward is ranked one of the Top Marketing Professors on Twitter, featured on a Top 100 list of Web-Savvy Professors of 2012, and quoted in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. He will give a presentation on Google glasses, and also touch on the optimal use of digital and social media.

 

Session 3:

 

“Harnessing Mass- and Micro-communications Tools”      

Matt McLernon, Communications Manager, YouTube

McLernon is convinced that communication can be used to improve all walks of life and he has a strong CV that serves as a proof to that. He will talk about how he's harnessing mass- and micro-communications tools in his everyday work at YouTube, where he, among other things, works with a team of 1,000 engineers to categorize the 100 hours of video that are uploaded to YouTube every minute.

 

“Engaging With Your Audiences: Paying customers and the users who upload their music”

Kristina Weise, Director of Global PR, Soundcloud

Weise is an expert on media relations, working for the leading social sound-sharing platform. She will talk about how SoundCloud engages with their audiences of both paying customers and the users who are uploading music.
